UK Report:

Northern Ireland’s First Minister Michelle O’Neill faces a no-confidence vote on Monday, 12 October, at Stormont over her handling of the Drumcree parading dispute. The motions against her and three other Sinn Féin ministers are set to be debated after receiving the backing of unionist parties. But the attempt to oust them will fail as it requires cross-community support from a majority of both unionists and nationalists in the assembly. It comes amid a major political row over a planned Orange Order march in Drumcree, Portadown, County Armagh.

A two-week deadline is also set to expire on 12 October after the Argentine President, Javier Milei, threatened on 28 September to launch a legal challenge against the United Kingdom over an oil project near the Falkland Islands, the British-administered territory over which Buenos Aires claims sovereignty. Milei set a two-week deadline for the Sea Lion oilfield project, a joint venture between Israeli and British companies, to be scrapped.
